 Chase Allan

Chase is the winner of the Nashville's 2012 NIMA Award Best Independent Country Music Artist of the Year. Chase is from Nashville, TN, is an extremely talented singer, songwriter and recording artist
who has the vocal prowess to contend with some of the top Country, Pop & Rock artists. Chase Allan's name is very quickly rising in the music industry worldwide, with his recent fan outreach campaign, Chase believes his fans come first. Buiding relationships with them is on top of his priority list. Most of Nashville's Music Row insiders are raving about the fresh sound that Chase has brought to their music scene.  Kent Arnsbarger

Kent has had a love for percussion music since childhood. The love was focused even more during highschool and college where he studied music, percussion and marimba. His love for the steel drum and pan music was sealed during a visit to Disney. "I saw J.P. & the Silver Stars performing outside of Pirates of the Caribbean ride - a steel drum band who had been performing there since the park opened in 1972.  I was amazed by the band & had to be pulled away from them.  Roger Bartlett

Roger puts together an amazing blend of blues, rock, jazz and a bit of tropical feel here and there. Roger is the original guitarist of Jimmy Buffett's Coral Reefer band. In the early days it was just Jimmy and Roger. Mr. Barlett is also infamous as the singer and writer of the song Fool for a Blonde from the classic horror movie "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre," and for the many incarnations of his own bands, and as lead guitarist for many artists from New York to Las Vegas. Bearhound

Bearhound is a band from East Tennessee. They specialize in a nice mix of folk, bluegrass, country with a pinch of Trop-Rock and classics. Members include; Abraham Woodrow, Jason Chester Schweizer and Trent Giles. You can follow them on their website HERE.

 

 


Big Papa & the Escape Key Band

Tropical rock in flip flops, Big Papa & the Escape Key Band is not your typical hum-and-strum, one-man-band. Audience interaction and danceable beach covers bring to mind the pirate days of Old Town Key West. The audience is encouraged to join Papa on stage to play congas or sing back up. Like all Trop Rock musicians, Big Papa was influenced by Jimmy Buffett, Bob Marley, Zac Brown and others. Located in the Adirondack Mountains and more recently in Central NY, he longs for the day he can make the Big Escape from the snow and sleep on a beach in the Florida Keys. Melissa Bel

Melissa Bel. Her debut album, BRAVE, came at the age of 18. It received widespread radio play. Bel released her sophomore album, Distance, in April 2012 which quickly reached no. 1 on Montreal's Jazz and Blues charts the following summer. More recently, Melissa Bel has shared the stage with the likes of Ron Sexsmith, Colin James, Serena Ryder and Sloan. In April, Bel opened two shows in London, England for Canadian Juno award winner Matthew Good. Bel released a brand new 7-song EP, “Don't Forget to Breathe” in June 2013. Deni Bonet

When life gets you down, it’s time to turn to the girl with the blue violin. That’s Deni Bonet, the acclaimed singer, songwriter and violinist behind the brand-new, intentionally uplifting album, It’s All Good. Known for her work with Cyndi Lauper, R.E.M., Sarah McLachlan, Robyn Hitchcock, and many others, Bonet’s third solo release is a blast of energy, enthusiasm and a tonic for the troubled soul. “If people are feeling blue, I hope they’ll say, ‘I want to put on Deni’s album’. I really want it to be something that can make people smile”, says Bonet. On It’s All Good, Bonet is joined by an array of high-profile collaborators including R.E.M.’s Peter Buck, Fred Schneider of The B-52s, John Wesley Harding, ex-Wings drummer Steve Holley, Young Fresh Fellow/R.E.M. associate Scott McCaughey, and even Broadway star Mary Testa. Gregory B

Gregory B is a one-man band act based in northern Illinois. He's been performing in the area as a single act for 10 years and has been performing in various bands for about 35 years. Gregory says he may be best known for performing trop rock music and Jimmy Buffett material but he also performsother genres including classic rock. Bill Cockrell

Being a Florida native and growing up on its beaches, has been a big influence on Bill's music.  In addition, hearing Jimmy Buffett for the first time provided a way to experience some of the feelings of the beach life through music.  Through the years Bill has performed with many bands from behind the drums as well as playing guitar as a solo performer. His musical influences are clearly heard in his song writing as well as his performances of favorite cover songs. He continues to perform with the duo High Tide which has been together for nearly twenty years. He also continues to perform solo shows as well as perform special events with other bands where there is an opportunity in his performance schedule. Bill has performed at many locations and events such as Meeting of the Minds, Walt Disney World, Sea World, Universal Studios, and most of the Florida Margaritaville’s, Bill has also performed for many major corporate events such as Nestle, Ford, Chrysler, Donzi Boats, Pro Line Boats and many others. Bill's recent solo release Aquaholic is a collection of 9 original songs and 1 cover that evoke the feelings of the Florida lifestyle.  It features well know trop rock musicians, Amy Lee, John Patti, and Jimmy Pappas. Cali Conscious

Cali Conscious blends Roots Reggae, Alternative, Folk-Rock, Jazz, and RnB with melodic choruses, 3-part harmonies, upbeat rhythms and conscious lyrics to create an energetic live experience that makes your soul groove. In 2013, they ran a beach clean up every 3rd Saturday of the month in Huntington Beach, raised $5000 from live performance tips and donated it to build a water well in Ethiopia through the non-profit charity:water, and completed "High Times," a full length studio album. Tim Charron

Tim Charron is a musician and songwriter with the ability to skillfully blend several genres of music into his own blend. Tim's Tropical songs on his new album "Chasing the Sun" come from a deep appreciation of the ocean, sand and sun. Time plays across the country in a variety of venues with his home port being Nashville, Tennessee. Tim plays a variety of venues across the country with his blend of Trop Rock, Country and Rock. Greg Dillard

Greg Dillard is a Trop Rock Singer/Songwriter currently residing in Tupelo, MS. Greg performs at venues all over the southeast and averages around 150 gigs a year playing his originals and a wide variety of covers that span numerous genres and decades of music. Greg is currently releasing songs from his new "Trapped in Paradise Again," album. Greg has also recorded CDs with full bands Bliss (Uphill Battle) and Busted Screen Door (Southern Belles and Shotgun Shells). Geo Creaux and The Cuddlefish

Geo Creaux and The Cuddlefish has carefully crafted a light-hearted, 'World' cross-over sound that is quite unlike that of the other acts in the Carolinas- and retreated to a more appealing refuge, opting instead for the sound of the islands and the scenic imagery of the water-resorts, boats, and beach-lovers. Ryan Hearn

Ryan Hearn is a singer and songwriter who has been playing music professionally in the Virginia area for about 15 years. Ryan says that he's had some great times! "In the past I've been lucky enough to share the stage with many great musicians: Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top, Sammy Kershaw, The Four Tops, Gin Blossoms, Keith Sykes, John Frinzi, Jim Morris, Sunny Jim White, and many more. I play a wide variety of music styles and specialize in Trop-Rock." Ryan is available for a variety of settings: Festivals, House Concerts, Clubs, Parties, Corporate Events and more. Though his website is dedicated to Ryan as a solo performer, he tells Tiki Beach Shop.com & Radio that he can do more than just be a one man show. Dani Hoy

Dani Hoy, aka "TropiGal" paints a vulnerable and honest view of life in a beach-oriented spirit of fun and adventure. Dani Hoy’s widely anticipated 2nd full CD, "Songs of Love and the Ocean" is set for release late summer, once again in collaboration with Kevin Johnston. The two teamed up on her first project, “TropiGal”, which facilitated many opportunities in the Tropical Rock genre in form of live performances, airplay, and a 2012 TRMA Horizon Award nomination. Tiffany Hulse

Tiffany Hulse, better known by her stage name, Tiffer "the Riffer" Folk is a 20 year old singer/songwriter with a burning passion for music! She has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with many Florida and Caribbean acts, such as: Dr. Cheeko, Gary Philips, John Friday, The Landsharks Band, The Florida Straits Band, Sunny Jim, and many more! In October 2010, she was the opening act for the 2010 Pensacola Beach Songwriter's Festival at Landshark Landing at the Margaritaville Beach Hotel.

Tiffany Hulse's music is different in that she uses unique melodies and chord progressions to match her lead vocals and captivating harmonies, no two songs sound the same. One might contain banjo and handclaps with a slight bluegrass feel to it, while yet another might consist of dynamic guitar leads and strong keyboard riffs with a rock 'n' roll quality. Matt Irie

Based out of Greensboro, NC and fresh off an incredible and extremely active performing year, Matt Irie has become one of the most recognizable names in the Surf Roots, Reggae and Acoustic worlds. With styles ranging from Reggae to Hip Hop, Acoustic and the Blues, fans are provided with an original sound from Matt Irie. Since an early age, music from the islands was a big influence on Matt, in particular the laid back vibes of a steel drum and guitar and the melodic singing. Matt Irie has performed with the likes of SOJA, The Movement, Badfish, Tribal Seeds, Kottonmouth Kings, The Green, Stick Figure, Pasadena, Ballyhoo, Sun-Dried Vibes, TreeHouse!, Jay D Clark, Of Good Nature, and many more,

Irie is currently working on a follow up solo album along with some collaborative efforts from the likes of Kat Nestel, Jordan Miller and more. No Jaboinga

No Jaboinga was a band that played the Atlanta music scene for years. They have since disbanded due to the fact that our nephew was the main guy and he joined the Army. You didn't think we would have some music on the site and not include our nephew's music!

 

 


Handa-McGraw & The Internationals

Handa-McGraw & The Internationals is a world music band whose music ranges from acoustic American primitive, blues, roots, African, Hawaiian, European, Ethno-Fusion, and electronica. Over the past few years they recorded four albums and several singles. Their music can be purchased at iTunes, Spotify, Rhapsody, and several other music sites all around the world. They also have a YouTube channel called The Electric Fog Factory, where you can hear an eclectic sampling of their music.


J.P Kallio

In a sea of singer songwriters thrives a voice someplace between Dave King, Johnny Cash and Tom Waits or perhaps within the sonic walls these names have built up. This voice belongs to well traveled Dublin based Finnish expat with the name J.P. Kallio. A man who finds comfort and, seemingly, ease in transitioning between music genres.

J.P. has made his passion in the past few years to hack both his own creativity and the music business, by releasing new song every week since the beginning of 2014. J.P. Also writes an active blog on his website www.jpkalliomusic.com 


Magdalena

Magdalena Daley was born and raised in Gävle Sweden, in 1994 she moved two hours south to the city of Stockholm where she began writing her first songs. After seven years honing her songwriting skills, singing in the kitchen to (as she puts it) "just me and God", she started recording some of the hundreds of songs she had compiled. She has also lived in Reykjavik, Iceland and currently resides in Charlotte, NC.

Her voice has been drawing critical acclaim to such legendary singer/songwriters such as Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell, Margo Timmins (Cowboy Junkies), Emmylou Harris and Natalie Merchant. You can follow Magdalena on her website HERE.


Matthew Kent Band

Matt Kent has been bouncing around the music world for years. His first music industry job was acting in a video in which he portrayed the "brother eating chocolate pie." He then played with acts across the US including a few sit in sessions with the Scot Campbell Blues Review, the original Cher tribute band ALLISON, the classic YES tribute band ELI, and even a few sessions with the legendary M.A. Whit Band.

 


Rob Mehl

Nominated the last three years for the Trop Rock Music Award as Best Male Vocalist, Songwriter, Album & Song of the Year, winner of the 2011 Song Of The Year award for his “Waiting For Jimmy”, a native of Oceanside, CA, Rob Mehl spent most of his youth bouncing back and forth between Southern California and Hawaii, where he learned how to surf, appreciate classic literature and play music. His father was a radio DJ, so Rob was exposed to a wide variety of musical influences, including Hawaiian storytelling songwriters, jazz artists and pop music.  These influences melded together and found their voice in Rob's mellow, folk-style beach ballads. Parrot Island Band

The Parrot Island band is a Trop Rock trio from the Atlanta , Georgia area that plays original music with an Island flavor (guitar/ukulele, steel pan, congas). They also play a number of Buffett covers and promote their band as "Jimmy Buffett on a budget".

Parrot Island Band 'leader" Bry Harris was named "most likely to open for Jimmy Buffett" upon high school graduation and although that hasn't happened, he enjoys playing music that makes you smile and brings sunshine to a cloudy day. Scott Ramsey ~ aka ~ Beach Bum Pirate

The Beach Bum Pirate aka Scott Ramsey is a musician with the tropical feel of the Caribbean. Hailing from Kentucky he moved to Florida in the early 1990's. He fell in love with the beach life and started writing songs about the pirate life I have come to love so much. Most of Scott's songs are about Pirates, Beaches, and Rum in the Sun. Scott's New CD which is called "Living on Island Time" is a collection of some of his favorite songs. "I hope they will enhance your next trip to the beach, a cruise or just hanging around the pool with songs like, Salt~Life, Tropically Impaired, Open the Bar & Hangover in Paradise," Ramsey says. Penny Rae

Indie singer-songwriter (with a twist of country) duo Penny Rae has enjoyed success with prior single releases of “Wake Up” and “Baby, It’s Cold Outside.” With music downloads covering most of the United States and Canada as well as a multitude of countries, now the duo has released their first EP. Penny Rae draws on a wide range of musical influences making their sound difficult to define. “Think acoustic-based, indie singer-songwriter, with a twist of country and minimal hipster. And coffee. Lots of coffee. I will not start wearing unnecessary scarves.” The first single off of the band’s EP, “Closure,” has been received well with radio play in the US and UK. Rodeo Waves

Talk about a fun group of musicians who are well aware of the link between rock, country, blues, Raggae and Trop Rock. Did we mention Jazz and and a bit of Earth Wind and Fire? Sounds like a bunch - but Rodeo Waves, a group of great music minds out of the Nashville area, have put together a fantastic sound and are building a solid following. Ramajay Intercoastal is the musical collaboration between Quincy Yeates and Tall Paul along with a rhythm section that brings huge talent & impressive credentials... and they can REALLY lay down a Groove!!!

Southern Drawl Band

Southern Drawl won best Trop Rock Album with “Another Day in Paradise.”  They won song of the year, beating out notables like the Zac Brown Band for “Another Day in Paradise” which can be found on their original album “Against the Grain” and  “Another Day in Paradise”.  Also was voted the best Trop Rock Band for 2012.

Lots of fun sing-along songs, to Island - Jimmy Buffett styles, "Something for everyone will be found in his music" Coming from a long line of musical influences, and a solid back-ground of performing bands from all over the southeastern U.S., there is truly plenty to enjoy at his shows. Anthony Stells

Anthony comes to the Trop Rock and Country music world via Long Island! From an early age, Anthony was addicted to rock and roll, with his musical roots stemming from the melodic harmonies of classic rock groups like the Beatles, the Beach Boys, various "one-hit wonders", and the list goes on and on. The definitive rock groups that really molded Anthony's feel for southern and country rock were groups like The Outlaws, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and others, such as The Marshall Tucker Band. Now equipped with a solid base of musical influences, Anthony set out with his group, The Hell or High Water Band in 1989 (whom he stills performs with today).  Anthony's songs are crafted in the Americana roots of his musical upbringing of a mixture of country rock, classic rock, and good ole Southern rock, always telling a story and brought together by melodic harmonies and unforgettable guitar licks and good feelings. Todd Sparks

Todd Sparks, also known as the Party Doctor, is a fixture along the Gulf Coast as he has brought his own amazing blend of music, humor and storytelling to fans for years. Todd combimes his sense of humor and love of music, which he credits both to his funny and talented family, into shows that are always fan favorites.

Danny Taddei

Danny Taddei is a singer songwriter, multi-instrumentalist musician and ship captain. He has spent most of his life living in places like the South China Sea, The Bermuda Triangle and Polynesia. His sound is what you’d expect from a guy who learned to sail a boat before he could ride a bike. Danny is a true storyteller with a Caribbean beat! Cindy Walsh

Cindy grew up in southern Indiana and began playing guitar when she was about 14. After college she joined the Navy and ended up making a career of it serving 20 years. Music has always been with her. She released her first CD, "Island Time" in July 2007, which contains 10 songs she wrote and produced.

Young Rebel Goombas

Young Rebel Goombas hail from Long Island, New York. Tropical rockers, their sound is not so easily pigeon-holed. Each member brings a rich and varied musical background to create the luscious Goomba sound. Goomba means family. Like a big family, they share songwriting duties.
